Easy5 simplifies the construction and analysis of such systems with a graphical, schematic-based application. A comprehensive set of pre-packaged components, stored in application-specific libraries, simplify the assembly of a representative model and facilitate quick and accurate system simulation. Engineers work within a familiar schematic drawing paradigm to add and specify data connections between components in an intuitive, simple-to-use, multi-level hierarchical modeling environment.

Release Highlights of Easy5 2025.1
New Mass Dynamics (MD) Library
A new application library (Mass Dynamics, or MD) has been added. The components in this library supersede similar components in other Easy5 application libraries (Thermal Hydraulics, Gas Dynamics, Multiphase Systems and Electrical Systems). Mass dynamics components formerly in other libraries have been moved to Obsolete (they will still be available for existing models).
The MD library provides a single universal set of components for modeling mass dynamics. MD is automatically available if you have a license to use any of the other Easy5 libraries (GD, HC, VC, or ES). The MD library includes, at present:
- CL One-Way Clutch
- CT Contact between two masses
- FS Sum of Forces
- GB Gear Box
- PA Poppet Valve Area
- PM Single Mass with hard limits and friction
- RJ Rotational Inertia
- RL Rotary to Linear Motion
- RM Two Rotating Inertias
- SF Spring
- SH Simple Drive Shaft
- SO Solenoid
- T3 Three Nested Masses
- TA Two Adjacent Masses
- TI Two Interlocked Masses
- TM Two Masses with Hard Limits
- TS Sum of Torques
- TY Three Adjacent Masses
Thermal Hydraulics Library
- Actuators now have a configurable option to activate a penetration model at the limits of motion, as well as using the existing hard limits. Penetration is a more physical representation of the actual process of two masses colliding, and it can facilitate modeling of the actuator kinematics in another program via an FMI connection.
- A new input for extra length has been added to the WP (Method of Characteristics) pipe. Use this input to model steady-state frictional contributions from entrance effects, bends, etc.
Gas Dynamics Library
- A new input for extra length has been added to the PX (Method of Characteristics) pipe. Use this input to model steady-state frictional contributions from entrance effects, bends, etc.
