FEMtools 4.5 is a maintenance release that brings new improvements to all FEMtools modules and introduces support for the Optistruct solver. The FE data interfaces and drivers are updated to support the current versions of the FE programs.

The highlights of 2024 v4.5 are summarized hereafter:
- New Help file integrating all documentation (user’s guides, examples manuals,theory manuals, reference manuals). Only the Release Notes and Getting Started manuals remain as PDF manuals.
- [New] “FEMtools Assistant”, a new generative AI-driven chatbox to answer questions (in many languages) within the context of the FEMtools documentation.

– SAP 25.3 - A new button to synchronize multiple graphics windows to use same rotation angle,pan and zoom, is added to the Graphics toolbar.
- It is now possible to read and execute only sections of a command file
- The Graphic Capture dialog box can now capture animations and export to AVI file.
- Pseudo-Orthogonality Check (POC) and SEREP expansion/reduction can now use a new method for automatic optimal modal base selection leading to improved results.
- POC can now be directly computed with complex test modes
- A limitation on the number of ANSYS PARAMETERS (1024) has been removed.
- Tracking responses during MMU is added.
- Off-diagonal MAC can now be selected as updating response (ODMAC). This is reflected in commands, tables and API functions.
- Off-diagonal POC can now be selected as response (ODPOC). This is reflected in commands, tables and API functions.
- A new function for evaluating the impact of frequency range selection on the RBPE results is added.
- 3 new examples added showing shape optimization with stress constraints using FEMtools and Nastran solvers.
- Minor bug corrections, code optimization and minor changes to command, functions,menus and dialog boxes.
