Studio UG 4.0 delivers a major update with a new Datamine file format, a revamped Plots system, and integration with the all-new Datamine Task Scheduler (DTS) 4.0 to support future-ready scheduling workflows.
The updated file format is a long-anticipated upgrade that introduces support for extended attributes, Unicode characters, and integrated metadata—plus the potential for reduced file sizes. It has been designed for seamless compatibility with your existing projects and custom scripts, allowing you to adopt the new format at your own pace. These enhancements provide greater flexibility and more efficient handling of complex underground mining datasets.

Responding to your feedback, the Plots system in Studio UG has been significantly overhauled to make report generation and visualisation more intuitive. With context-sensitive ribbons, keyboard shortcuts, and a range of usability improvements, working with plots is now much faster and more streamlined. This update lays the groundwork for continued enhancements to reporting and visual tools in future releases.
Studio UG 4.0 also introduces support for Datamine Task Scheduler (DTS) 4.0, which is now required to export and synchronise schedule data. Replacing the previous EPS system, DTS marks the beginning of a new direction in underground scheduling solutions. It’s available for download from the Datamine Customer Portal and forms the foundation for an evolving set of capabilities aimed at improving your planning workflows.
Together, these updates make Studio UG 4.0 a powerful step forward in underground mine planning—combining performance improvements, smarter data handling, and a more modern, responsive interface.
